Arpan Kumar Chandel, aka King or King Rocco, was born on October 10, 1995, in Uttar Pradesh and raised in Delhi. While attending a government school and later Dyal Singh College, he began uploading rap demos to YouTube under "King Rocco" in 2012, building a grassroots fanbase. A turning point came in 2019 when he became a finalist on MTV Hustle, showcasing sharp lyricism and stage energy.Post-Hustle, King released a string of acclaimed works, including his debut EP Talismann (2018), the viral single Ghumshudaa (2019), and Tu Aake Dekhle (2020). His crossover to Bollywood came with the rap track “Sahi Galat” in Drishyam 2 (2022).In 2023, his single “Maan Meri Jaan” became the most-streamed song in India on Spotify that year, firmly establishing him in mainstream pop-rap. Known for his poetic storytelling and versatile style, he also became a squad leader on MTV Hustle Season 2 and has performed over 20 concerts nationwide.Today, King stands at the forefront of Indian hip-hop, combining street-smart lyricism with catchy pop sensibilities, delivering performances that are equal parts introspective and electrifying.
